Apprenticeship Training

In Southwest Ohio we believe in diversity. Whether you specialized in a particular segment of the industry or prefer it all, we have the methods and means to train you. Our Carpenter, Floorlayer, and Millwright Apprenticeship Committees have designed programs of training to accommodate apprentices at all levels and all trades. Surveying, concrete formwork, interior systems, scaffolding, interior and exterior trim, pile driving, welding, conveyors, material handling equipment, turbine and generator installation, carpet, tiles, hardwood flooring, lasers, precision optical aligning and leveling equipment, these are just a few of the apprenticeship courses we offer.

Our standard term of apprenticeship is based on a 4 year curriculum, which is graduated into increments of 6 months. Advanced standing may be granted for past experience. Minimum age for entry to most programs is 17 years with a high school diploma or equivalent. Exceptions may be made for individuals demonstrating past experience or mastery of the trade.

If accepted, your education is not only delivered at our center, but you also are registered in, and receive college credits through one of the regional Community Colleges. That's not bad considering there is no cost to you! Apprenticeship classes are scheduled 4 weeks per year and they are mandatory. The rest of the time you should be out on the job, earning and learning from the professionals.

Journeyman Education

When you attain the status of journeyman, the training doesn’t stop there. As in many professions, life long learning is part of the process. That’s where the members of the Carpenters Union stand heads above the rest. We are professional tradesmen, skilled in today’s technology.
